Renee Martynuik - Assistant Coach of 'Team Foundry' Kettlebell Sport Team

Hi Everyone!  Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me.

I'm a huge believer that experience - either positive or negative - is our biggest teacher in life.  For the most part, you can't really get everything out of theory - you gotta practice, practice, and practice some more.  I also believe that everyone has an inner athlete.  With my experience and my own inner athlete, I bring a perspective to Team Foundry than cannot necessarily be measured with fitness certifications or degrees.

I have been competing in Kettlebell Sport since 2011 and have worked through the ranks to attain my Master of Sport in Longcycle (2014), Candidate for Master of Sport in Biathlon (2014), and Candidate for Master of Sport in Snatch (2015 - pictured here) through the American Kettlebell Alliance (AKA).  I do wear my ranks with pride, however, I know with them comes a great deal of responsibility to ensure that I never rest on my laurels and always keep learning.  Failure to understand that there is always something more to learn allows arrogance to creep in and will surely see you fail in all aspects of life.

Nothing is black and white in my world.  There are always different shades of what is right and wrong in Kettlebell Sport training.  I work to encourage what is right for YOU, based on principles of safety, physics, and personal ability.  I've analogized here that Kettlebell Sport is like a house - every one is different regardless of the materials used to build it.  We all have to work hard to make sure our house is kept in good shape with regular maintenance, upgrades, and maybe a remodel or two.

Whatever you strive for, never quit.

Keep trying.
